ATTORNEYS

Bio (continued)
In addition to all the work Mike does representing his own clients, Mike enjoys supporting lawyers in other firms by co-venturing cases where there is a need for extra resources and special litigation experience. Solo practitioners and lawyers in other small firms have told us they would not have been able to accept some of their cases without being able to bring us on board. It is a great way for our firm to help other lawyers.

Mike is a 1986 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. He holds his undergraduate degree in journalism from USC as well. Mike practiced law in Texas for 14 years and has practiced in North Carolina since 2000. Mike is a member of the State Bars of North Carolina and Texas. He is admitted to practice in the United State District Courts for the Middle, Western, and Eastern Districts of North Carolina, the Northern District of Texas, before the United State District Court of Appeals for the Fourth and Eleventh Circuits, and before the United States Supreme Court. Mike is a resident member of the 28th Judicial District Bar in Asheville, North Carolina, as well as a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

Mike is a member of the Mountain Area Volunteer Lawyers (MAVL), administered by Pisgah Legal Services (PLS). MAVL attorneys provide quality legal services to low-income citizens, alleviating the burden on PLS, one of North Carolina’s most respected pro bono law firms. He serves as Leadership Counsel to the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Mike enhances the education of future lawyers by participating as an attorney advisor in the mock trial process.

Wimer & Associates / Asheville Law Group is proud to be a Just Economics Living Wage Certified entity.
